Iraq Forced To Import Oil To Tackle Shortages
August 18th, 2006 by LAThink Progress - Iraq Forced To Import Oil To Tackle Shortages
The reason they need to IMPORT oil is because their industrial base is growing so fast they need ever more energy resources! This is GOOD news.
What other country imports oil?
That’s right - the United States!
See - things really are going great in Iraq. It all depends on how you look at things - whether you are a “glass half empty” or “glass half full” kind of person.

LA,
Please re-read the news. Iraq is in fact exporting oil. It is in fact importing petroleum products (gasoline, diesel) because it’s refineries were blown up by your new bestest buddies.

What’s the difference BobbyMac? It is true that Iraq is importing oil product that up until the war they produced for themselves no problema. And not only were the refineries leveled by the insurgents (obviously not LA’s best buddies), the entire oil industry has been knocked back to the British days of yor. 1950’s production with a 2006 demand. Top this off with the predictions made by the Republicanists as they gazed into their bottom line crystal ball…
Wolfowitz speaks…
Isn’t that the point Bob? This is just a small part of the list of fuckups born through lies that the gangsters in Washington have put our country through.

BRT once got banned for that kind of crap.

Looks like Bob Mc is up to his old tricks. Ignore the larger issue and focus on trivialities in order to score cheap rhetorical points. I mean, if it’s just gasoline that Iraq is importing, I guess that means things are going great over there!
August 18th, 2006 at 4:06 pm
Either way Bob, Exxon isn’t our best buddy, they’re yours and shrubco’s.
ps: yes, i know he wasn’t talking about exxon, but shhh….

It’s no trick if you ignore “the shit”.
August 18th, 2006 at 6:58 pm
OK folks,-is Iraq exporting oil or not-yes or no?
If they are, and if Bob’s right about the gasoline shortage being caused by terrorist assholes blowing up the country’s refineries, then the post, the insults and the defensive and side track bloviating on this thread are just pure bat gabble.
No surprise there…

I love it! “Yes, yes, yes, Iraq is now forced to import gasoline, but that’s only because the refineries keep getting blown up.” Do you really think that’s a point in your favor?
August 18th, 2006 at 7:51 pm
Stephen, it can be a plus, because it will force the Iraqi people to find a new way to develop their economy rather than relying on oil. They can compete against India by being the best computer programmers and software developers in the world. Oh wait, the electricity there is too unreliable.
Okay, maybe they can become the fashion mecca of the Middle East…. Ooops, the rising tide of Shia fundamentalist nutcases means that is probably not going to be a good idea either.
Alright, how about they brew the best beer in the Middle East. Oh, wait a second, Islam forbids alcohol. So much for growing wine grapes too!
On second thought, I guess they should try harder to get those refineries up and running.

It was Al Gore or some other terrorist-loving liberal who destabilized Iraq and sent the price of oil to $70 a barrel today from the $28 a barrel when we invaded March 2003.
This shit happens every time they take power…

Bob went too far.
Then he’s gonna give a Mel Gibson apology “sorry, didn’t mean it”.
Sure…
August 19th, 2006 at 6:43 am
sirk - a meeting a day with Mel should clear things up for BobbyMac…the MacBobby.
DecomposedGranite…
insurgency = terror?
civil war = insurgency?
terror = revolution?
occupation = resistance?
To confuse an insurgency attempting to push an occupation force out of a country with terrorists bent on destroying America? Republicanist talking points on shit stained parchment.
Back under the bridge.
