Any ideas for ways to show our support for her?

How small was God’s penis so it would fit inside Mary virgin punani without breaking her hymen?

Here’s an idea.

Good thing we have the Hávámal.

The children will play and the religions will murder———and so it goes!

My question was: is this really a good move for Miss Marcotte?
She’s become a popular blogger because she’s been willing to speak her mind, and do so in terms her readership liked. Now, everything she writes will be held against Senator Edwards, which means that she’ll either have to cease doing what made her a popular blogger, or leave the Edwards campaign.
Did she take down the recent post about the Duke lacrosse team on her own, or was such “suggested” to her by the campaign? We don’t know, but I can guarantee you that some people will believe that it was taken down because the campaign told her to, no matter what she might eventually say about it.
Is it fair for Mr Edwards to be held responsible for the non-campaign activities of one of his staffers? The answer is: it doesn’t matter whether it’s fair or not, he will be, just as any candidate would be. That’s easy enough to see: what would libs say if Mitt Romney hired Fred Phelps to be his religious issues coordinator?
Obviously, she’ll be making decent money for doing this, so I suppose, as a professional move, it’s good for her. I do wonder whether she’ll be happy with an assignment like this, one which will require her to stifle herself.

Gotta love the concern troll.
Gordo, contributions are a good idea in the abstract, but think hard about whether you’ll regret that contribution when you read that the Edwards camp has fired Amanda. I think it’s pretty clear that, as silly as all this is, it’s not going to go away, and if Edwards perceives this as harming him in any way, you know he’s going to cave.

dana, your comment is based on an assumption that the wider world is aware of/gives a shit about what an obscure edwards staffer did in her pre-campaign life.
it’s easy to over-estimate the importance and profile of blogistan when we spend so much time here. but honestly, i doubt if once you get past the heavy-breathing in malkinland all that many people are aware of any such controversy or are bothered at all by it when they find out.
the mitt romney/fred phelps analogy is way off too. i mean, what amanda is a lot more obscure than fred phelps (my non-blog reading friends have all heard of phelps. not true for marcotte) and phelps has done stuff that would offend a lot more people (e.g. cheering american war dead outside soldiers’ funerals)

Up, surely you know that Mr Edwards’ opponents are going to use everything that they can to make people aware of any negatives he or any of his staffers bring to the campaign.
Running for president isn’t some love-fest; if Hillary Clinton or Barack Hussein Obama see Mr Edwards as a threat to them winning the nomination, it will be brought out. And should Mr Edwards actually win the nomination, you can be absolutely certain that the Republican nominee will do the same.

sure, they can try. i just don’t think it will do much but land with a big thud.

I hope you’re right, up. But I won’t be too surprised to see this wind up on CNN before long. If I’ve learned anything about the right-wing noise machine over the last ten years, it’s that eventually, if they hammer something long enough, they can get a mainstream media outlet to pick it up.

The story has reached the New York Times, and it went out over the AP wire, too. Upyernoz had a very good point about the real-world insignificance of the blogosphere, but this pseudo-scandal has slipped those surly bonds and is now a bona-fide Campaign Issue.

That you would look for ways to support her says a lot. Do you think that her presence helps or hinders a serious presidential candidate? How about her co-worker, the Queen Cunt of Fuck Mountain? If you don’t think that this would come out even without “the right wing noise machine” you are delusional. Any serious Democratic candidate would have found this stuff. Just like when Jane Hamisher did Lieberman in blackface. What’s to support? Go read her blog if you want to support her.

Is there some kind of justification for calling Shakespeare’s Sister the QCoFM that I’m not aware of? Is this some kind of ironic moniker she’s used for herself? If not (maybe even if so) could we remove that phrase from this blog please?

Sorry.
If I get my facts wrong, let me know. If you don’t like my tone, tough. At this bus stop in the blogosphere, I’m Queen Cunt of Fuck Mountain, and I’m mean for a reason. Once we get our country back on the right track, there will plenty of time for nursery rhymes.
And I love the word cunt. I use it like it’s going out of style, mostly when referring to my own or talking to one of my Brits (to whom the word is about as alarming as oatmeal). I love it specifically because it has so much power in America. I love it when some dude calls me a cunt intending to deliver the ultimate insult, and I can effortlessly take the wind out of his sails by replying, “Fucking right I am. Queen Cunt of Fuck Mountain, and don’t you forget it, son.” I’m all for reclaiming that shit—but reclaiming it is about wearing it yourself and wielding it ironically, which is necessarily as a compliment, not an insult. If I call my girlfriend “a beautiful cunt” for expertly handling a sexist prig, that’s got reappropriative power. If I call her “a dumb cunt” because she does something foolish, not so much.

Most of the protest seems to come from Catholics.
But are Catholics real Christians?
Jack Chick says no, learn why here.
You should read that Dana.

And of course, don’t forget to blame the Jews.

well, now that edwards has caved and canned marcotte, there’s a real danger that the netroots will turn on him.

“sure, they can try. i just don’t think it will do much but land with a big thud”
Maybe you meant “ON a big thud” Up?
Did you ever watch Edwards mealy mouth his way through any interview more penetrating than channel 685’s Sissie Funderburk, pinning him to the cross over his barbecued beans techniques at the last neighborhood Labor Day cookout?
Incidentally, how does a completely empty suit go about “caving” on ANYthing?
Sounds redundant to me…

Are you happy the anti-semites like Donohue finally got what they wanted BRT?
February 7th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
Dana:
Last I heard, Amanda Marcotte is 29 years old, and made a conscious decision, of her own free will, after giving the matter some consideration. She is known (by those who are objective) to be extremely intelligent.
Yes, I’m quite sure Amanda is competent to make decisions about her life.
February 7th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
Dana, is it a good move for Catholics to let Bill Donohue speak for all of Catholics?
February 8th, 2007 at 6:45 am
Longhair–
But Marcotte is a woman. Some men don’t think that women should ever be allowed to make important decisions on their own.

They are dancing at hotair.com like they have won the superbowl with marcotte’s dismissal. calls for malkin to replace O’reilly or be the next Press Secretary at the white house are already in motion. Of course old Allah Pundit is stifling criticism of malkin with threats of banning.

They must be pretty dissapointed now?

[…] When Amanda was first attacked, the enigmatic Liberal Avenger asked what her friends could do to show their support for her. It’s now clear that the reason she was hired was her proven ability to build a dynamic online community by developing an engaging website and by fostering a spirited discussion of the issues. So it seems to me that the best way to show our support is to head over to the site and join the conversation. […]
