Someone explain Bush’s prescription drug policy to me…
March 16th, 2008 by Nick the News Guy…because I really can’t figure it out. Why is it that we’re not allowed to manufacture drugs in the US, ship them to Canada, and re-import them, but the pharmaceutical industry is allowed to import contaminated drugs from China.
Oh yeah…

Well, my blood pressure medicine that I used to buy in Mexico for $12 per month went up to $60 per month. Now, do you understand?

I feel almost too guilty to post this.
I’m a senior and pay NOTHING for my prescription drugs. Nor does any other Old Brit.
That’s just one small part of what a National Health Service is all about. Our (national) insurance contributions were deducted directly from our pay packets throughout oue working lives - thank goodness. Moreover, not one penny of our cash passed through any (making money from misery), despicable, greedy middleman’s hands.

Nick, that’s because to re-import them from Canada would be a violation of the free market!

Sorry about the moderation. Health care is one of the subjects that’s hard to comment on without tripping the spam filter.
