Thought y’all might want to know a lil about the dirtbag you’re dealing.
You know - the one they call - Pat “I So Thoroughly Got My Ass Whooped By Macswain I Had To Banned Him” Terico.
When I pointed out that his argument about the prankster being insensitive because of Carlito’s personal tragedy was bogus because there was no evidence that anyone knew of that tragedy at the time, he went bezerk and falsely accused me of knowing about the tragedy before I had made an earlier point that the post was an obvious parody.
He then said he was going to ban me. But before he did, I got up a post saying his accusation was wrong and he was banning me on false facts.
So what did the playground monitor do — he deleted my comment that pointed out he banned me on a lie.
There’s your man of truth. He’ll jealously guard the sanctity of comments on other sites while deleting those on his to hide his lies.
I am glad that this dust up has turned me on to this site though. Good lookin’ out for ya.

It’s hilarious that they can’t tell when they’re being teased.
I can’t imagine that anybody here on this blog really believed that I was really accusing Patterico of editing that guy’s comment on this site - or that I was really accusing him of creating a dummy screenshot in Photoshop. They believed it all, however, which is even funnier than the idea that “carlitos” would have actually confessed to diddling his sister in the first place.
There are a bunch of wingnuts out there who’ve been taking themselves just a tiny, tiny bit too seriously of late.

It really is hilarious over there.
By the time I woke up yesterday morning somebody on our end had already deleted the clearly edited and fake carlito comment. If carlito really believed that people would mistake the “I got my sister pregnant” comment as something he actually said rather than a piece of vandalism, he could have stopped worrying at that point because the comment had been deleted.
Now Patterico has not one but TWO threads about it along with recreations of the comment and multiple screenshots from two different PCs showing it FOR REAL. Wingnuts are encouraging carlitos to bring this matter to the attention of the District Attorney so that legal action may be taken against LiberalAvenger.com.
I can’t decide whether to laugh at this people or to feel sorry for them. I guess I’ll do both.

LA, while I might be one of your resident conservative trolls, I think that you might, at least on occasion, listen to what I have to say.
Did Carlito overreact to what could have been seen as a joke? Possibly, but that’s up to him. Did someone here alter one of his comments, without leaving a positive indication of doing so? Yup, sure did.
And that was just plain wrong, whether it was intended as a joke or not: you don’t alter something someone else has written (save maybe to **** a profanity or fix a bad format).
This is the point at which you say, “OK, it was meant as a joke, but we stepped way over the line this time, and we apologize.” That faces up to your rsponsibilities, and it ends the whole thing.

Patterico undermines Webmasters effort to scrub offensive edited comment.
Here’s the deal. I’ve been busy. As such, I haven’t been reading all
the comments as quick as usual. As most of you know this place is
zoo, tons of spam and tons of wingnuts. I’ve tried to do my best at
deleting all the spam and super offensive racist comments. Well like
I said I was busy and haven’t been getting to everything as fast as
usual…when I finally came across the “comment in question” I had to
read it several times… it was obviously edited …no big deal…
heck we’ve spent an entire day editing/changing wingnut comments and
have done it since then. However, we’ve always added a strikeout or
italics or something to set the “edit” apart. This time it didn’t happen.
So I re-read the comment again and again to see where the actual edit
was so I could add the Italics or what have you (before ya get your
panties in a bunch, note that I fix a lot of the comment formatting
and html mistakes you people make). But I couldn’t figure it out, or
really didn’t want to try to hard. It was pretty offensive and
carlito had objected strenuously about it just two comments down….
so I killed it but forgot to leave a note about it ( I’m fucking busy).
Just was trying to do the right thing….
Now I see that Patterico has put up the comment on his/her site and
is in a fury over it.
All I can say is that if you wingnuts hadn’t freaked out about it, it
would have faded away just like all the parasitic spam .

Here’s something else…
I said that nobody can trust Patterico’s original screenshot because it had been “manipulated” in Photoshop or another graphic program. I said that the very act of bringing it into software to crop/resize it was a manipulation.
His response to that is to post multiple GIANT full-size unedited/uncropped screenshots that blow his blog’s formatting out. hehe
If Patterico was a dog, I think he’d probably spend alot of his time chasing his own tail.

Actually, it was just some stats on how around half of women who have abortions are not having their first. Therefore, at some level, they are using it for birth control. Also, 42% of women weren’t using birth control when they got pregnant. The site was a contraception website, it really wasn’t a “right wing” source.

Patterico’s ban had nothing to do with what the Editors knew or didn’t know when they (maliciously) defamed him: it had everything to do with the fact that YOU read through the comment thread (where carlito *explicitly* states the death of his sister) and still deemed the situation “too funny”.
Maybe “Too funny” was in reference to Patterico’s reaction to the situation; I’m (reasonably) sure that you don’t find the death of carlito’s sister something to laugh about. But either way, bragging about your ham-handed polemics makes you look like a jackass.
At least Joe Biden had the political sense to acknowledge HIS rhetorical fuck-up…

What he didn’t tell you is that he deleted my comment in which I informed him that his assumption that I had read Carlito’s statement before posting my comment was wrong. He says I admitted it … well, then it should be extremely easy for him to show you that admission (Here’s a hint - the claimed admission doesn’t exist).
I’ve completely debunked Patterico’s lie with logic and evidence here.
It is Patterico who deleted my initial defense and then banned me to prevent me from defending myself against his lie. That’s your man of principle in action.
Now, Leviticus, if you are an honest and principled person, one would expect you to apologize for perpetuating Patterico’s lie.

LA, if someone who can edit comments on this site edited a comment, I agree with those who say you should formally apologize for having had that happen, and try to find out who.
If you say it happened without your knowledge, then look to see if you can get edits logged somehow.
(And obviously, if this was a comment by someone else who was just claiming to be Carlito, sorry Carlito, but anyone can put any name in the comment box. It was nasty and crude, and I don’t like it a bit… but it’s one of the problems of a site that doesn’t require registration and login.)
Sgo, I understand the bit about having deleted the comment but pragmatically speaking, if you could have edited it to something like “cruel joke deleted - sorry Carlito, I don’t know who did this” it would have deflated Patterico’s attacks.

It is truly funny all the contortions a wingnut will go through when busted posting a lie.
Now that I’ve proven Pat’s lie, Leviticus’ comeback is that I should have read the 48 comments that span 19 screenshots before I posted my comment. This is pure silliness. I doubt I’ve ever read every comment on any post that has more than 5 posts attached to it and I bet that’s true for Leviticus and virtually all visitors to any blog.

If that is a basis for his argument, yes. In fact, he then did say it to me and my response to that information wasn’t a hearty laugh at Carlito’s expense, as Pat grossly suggests. No, it was to state : “Now if they knew about his personal tragedy, I would agree with you.” That is a plain acknowledgment that if the prank had occurred with foreknowledge of carlito’s particular tragedy, it would not be funny and would be offensive.
Leviticus next says: Like I’m in some major hurry to conform to your ethical standards… The ethical standard involved is that when you post a lie about someone and then the lie proves false, you apologize for having stated the lie. I really don’t expect Leviticus or Pat to abide by that standard because it is a standard of common decency. But I’m glad that Leviticus is on record about rejecting that standard and is openly willing to reveal the quality of his/her character by so doing.
Most notable about Leviticus’s comment is the complete absence of any criticism toward his hero Pat. Leviticus has now seen how Pat lied about me, deleted a comment in which I defended myself and banned me so that he could continue perpetuating his lie. Those despicable acts are apparently O.K. with Leviticus because, in his/her unprincipled world, if Pat did it, it’s alright.
And what’s up with the name Leviticus? Some kind of weird fantasy where he/she role plays the angry God willing to stone to death anyone who works on the Sabbath, I suppose.

I don’t think anyone intended to cause carlito any emotional pain for his personal tragedy - a tragedy I don’t think anyone involved in this deabate on these two blogs would wish on anyone else. I certainly wouldn’t. But even pain caused by mistake is worthy of an apology and, for that, including any role I played in it, I do indeed apologize to carlito.
I saw carlito’s little joke above and in actually reading some of the comments today I saw another joke he has posted. He has certainly handled this matter in a much better manner than Patterico ever would or could.
And … given what’s in The Book of Leviticus, you might want to seriously consider sticking with Levi.

I tend to have a lot of respect for the man, but I don’t turn a blind eye to his actions and I disagree with many of his political stances. He shouldn’t have banned you, not without letting you plead your case in the proverbial town square.
